Hi Board, Staff, and Members of Bucketworks:

Many of this news is out of date and I have been remiss in collecting and sharing everything that makes this place magic for me with all of you, who are contributors and participants and friends of Bucketworks. But late news is better than none at all, and Tegan helped me realize today that you can’t all see what’s happening here unless we tell you what’s going on. I could write a book about all that you have done, with the help of 20 others spending 10 hours a day doing nothing but that, and we’d still miss some of the wonderful things to celebrate. We truly are making Milwaukee’s most unique and creative gathering place come to life together.

I know that this year is likely to be one of the most incredible years we’ve had since Bucketworks began on March 22, 2002. We’ve made it for 5 years and 2 days! Yet we’re facing some of the toughest challenges right now: we have to find a new home, we have to grow our staff, and we have to grow our leadership at the highest levels.

Milwaukee is an amazing and colorful city, and you are the reason, every day, I love living here. I’m proud to co-create our city with you, and to co-create our city’s most colorful and creative place: Bucketworks.

Recent Challenges:

  • New Land Enterprises gave us a proposal for renting the second floor from them for $7800 a month, +20% of utilities and taxes. We are attempting to negotiate, but it looks like Bucketworks needs to plan to relocate within the year.
